Cherry Fenton, age 67 of Arvada, CO passed away peacefully on January 5, 2026, surrounded by love.
Born on October 15, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, Cherry lived a life marked by zest and enthusiasm, kindness and strength. She was known for her humor, spirited stubbornness, bright lipstick, and her lively, outspoken, big-hearted expressiveness. Above all, she cherished her family, and her presence brought joy and laughter to all who knew her.
Cherry is survived by her children, Mike Fenton (Ashley) and Jeremy Fenton (Nikki Valdez); her grandchildren, Nayeli Fenton-Ortiz, Anaya Fenton-Ortiz, Analicia Fenton-Ortiz, Preston Aragon, Gabriel Nunez, Aubree Nunez, and Jazelle Nunez; her mother, Louise McNellis; her siblings, Niola Ortiz (Henry), Manual Hernandez (Carol), Dorothy Betancourt (Pete), Dewey McNellis (MaryAnn), and Tina Espinoza (Eric); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Mike Fenton and Jerry Archuleta; her son, Jimmy Fenton; and her father, Dewey McNellis.
She found joy in the love she shared with her sons, in peaceful days spent camping and fishing, in music and dancing, quiet naps, the faithful companionship of her dogs, shared laughter with the jokes she told, moments of chance at the slot machines and unhurried time with her family. Her love remains—woven into memories, carried in laughter, and held forever in the hearts of those who knew her.
A celebration of life will be held on January 20, 2026, at 11:00 am at Newcomer funeral home 901 S Sheridan Blvd., Lakewood, CO 80226
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
