Cheryl Perrin Bertaut

Cheryl Perrin Bertaut, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 surrounded by family. She was born on December 25, 1952 to the late Henry Bazile Perrin and Wilda Christina Harper Perrin. Cheryl was a proud graduate of Ponchatoula High School in 1971 where she served as Head Majorette and was known for her gift of baton twirling. She worked for the Louisiana Lottery Corporation for many years before retiring in 2014. Cheryl is lovingly remembered by her family and friends for her contagious smile, kind leadership and positive outlook on life. Her faith in God and kind-hearted spirit brought joy and comfort to all who knew her. She was also known for her skills on the dance floor, always being the first to start a line dance or jitterbug with her loving husband, Chris. She was a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to so many, yet, two of the best roles in her life were "Mom" and "Maw Maw" to her children and grandchildren. Cheryl is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Chris Bertaut; children, Tommy Kimbrough (Emily) and Lindsey Bertaut Mercante (Michael); stepson Corey Bertaut (Charlotte); grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brayden, and Kerigan Kimbrough; Jax, Luca and Emilia Mercante; Dewayne, Cory, Cole and Rain Bertaut; great-grandson, Boston Williams; and countless family and friends. In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her siblings, Vicky Ryerson, Terry Perrin, Sr. and Keith Perrin; and her beloved father-in-law Louis Bertaut. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 4-7pm at the Ponchatoula Kiwanis Club Log Cabin, 201 W. Magnolia St, Ponchatoula, LA 70454. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her honor to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer centers or the American Heart Association.
