Cheryl Lynn "Cheri" Bolchoz

Cheryl Lynn Viator, 66, of Charleston, South Carolina, beloved Wife, Mother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Grandmother, passed away on Sunday, July 20th, 2025. She was born on July 4th, 1959, in Missouri to Gerald Eugene Viator, Sr. and Phyllis L. Viator (Drury).
Cheri proudly served her country in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, where she welcomed her twins, Kristopher David Johnson and Regina Marie Johnson, who were the pride and joy of her life.
Throughout her life, Cheri brought warmth, laughter, and love wherever she went. She had an adventurous spirit and a passion for travel - she especially loved going on cruises and spending time near the ocean. Her beloved dog, Callie, was her constant companion and brought her endless comfort and happiness.
Cheri had a special gift for forming lasting friendships. She touched many lives with her caring heart and kind words, and her best friend, Julie Mendenhall, was like a sister to her. Cheri never met a stranger and always made those around her feel welcome and loved.
Family was everything to Cheri. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren, whether it was celebrating birthdays and holidays, cheering them on at their activities, or simply enjoying quiet moments together. Her home was always filled with laughter, love, and good food - she loved to cook and was known for her warm hospitality.
Cheri is preceded in death by her parents, Gerald and Phyllis Viator of St. Louis, MO; her sister, Karen Jean Viator Winslow (Stephen) of Alpharetta, GA; and her husband, Michael Bolchoz. She is survived by her son, Kristopher D. Johnson (Kris), his wife Andy, and their children Jakob and Kaleb; her daughter, Marie Johnson of Nashville, TN; her step-daughter, Tiffany Boyd of Johns Island, SC, her husband Ray, and their children Connor, Dylan, and Zane; and her brother, Gerald (Gerry) Eugene Viator Jr., his wife Tiffany, and their daughter Nicole Parr Viator of Apex, NC.
Cheri's beautiful spirit, fierce love for her family, and unwavering loyalty to her friends will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. She leaves behind countless memories that her family and friends will treasure forever.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date in early 2026.
