Cheryl Ann Burnell

Cheryl Ann (Zeitel) Burnell, 66, loving wife of Michael W. Burnell Sr., passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, at her home with her family by her side.

Born in Meriden on June 1, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Manfred and Sybil J. (Lynes) Zeitel. She was a graduate of the Meriden school system.

Mrs. Burnell was employed at Schwink's Mini Buy in South Meriden and at Start Laundromat in Meriden.

Cheryl was kindhearted and generous, always maintaining an open-door policy at her home, where she cared for others before herself.

Besides her husband, Michael, of 41 years, she is survived by her two daughters, Trisha Burnell and Jessica Burnell; her three sons, Eric Burnell and his wife Andrea, Michael Burnell Jr. and his wife Nikki, and IBN Burnell; and her four grandchildren, Kinsley, Caoilynn, Hayden, and Nico Burnell.

She is also survived by her three sisters, Laure Perreault and her husband Jules, Christine Iannotti and her fiancé Robert Waller, and Lisa Orzech and her husband Michael; her three brothers, Joseph Lynes and his wife Jeanette, Fredrick Zeitel, and James Niver and his wife Katherine; as well as several nieces and nephews.
