A much-loved sister, mother, and grandmother, Cheryl Ford, 73, of Colorado Springs passed away peacefully on November 1st, 2025 in Colorado Springs with her family present. She was born January 30, 1952, in Enid, Oklahoma, and resided in Colorado Springs for the last ten years, having moved there after retirement in 2015. She graduated from Enid High School, and received a degree from Phillips University in Enid, OK, earning her degree in Sociology.
Cheryl spent her career as a Social Worker with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services in both Enid and in Tulsa, and helped hundreds of children and families through her care and commitment. She had a deep passion for Archaeology, and spent several summers doing field work with professional teams in Cyprus, Egypt, and California. She had a lifelong love for animals, rode horses as a girl, and kept many dogs and cats over the years. She especially loved her faithful Golden Retriever, Boomer.
She is survived by her sisters Rebecca Reed and Shannon Bonfanti; her son Jon Forshee and wife Erika; her daughter Mary Lang and husband J Lang; her two grandchildren Chance and Justin McLean; niece Lana Lea Thrower and husband Jason; and cousins Carol Lee Worrell, Marilee Dodgen, and Sara Jean Cox Patricia Worrell Carter.
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Wanda Ford and two brothers, Richard Ford and Frank Trevelan Ford.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday November 22, at Brown-Cummings Funeral Home, 400 W. Maple St., Enid, OK, 73701.
