Cheryl Grzybek, 78 years of age and long-time resident of Crystal Lake, Illinois, passed away on March 11, 2026, surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 3, 1947, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Martin Altman and Laverne McMahon (Ehlebracht). She was united in marriage to Lawrence “Larry” J. Grzybek on February 27, 1971.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Larry Grzybek; children Eddie J. and Larry H. Grzybek; grandchildren Andrew and Ben Grzybek; siblings Dr. Edward Altman and Pam Mixon; as well as other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Davenport Family Funeral Home and Crematory, 419 E. Terra Cotta Ave., Crystal Lake, IL 60014, from 1 p.m. – 5 p.m. Cheryl will be laid to rest at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 11 a.m. Please meet at the cemetery around 10:30- follow signs for the Funeral Staging Area.
