CUMBERLAND

Cheryl M. (Silvia) Hockman, 73, of Cumberland, passed away on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Rhode Island Hospital, Providence. She was the beloved wife of Ken W. Hodkinson, with whom she shared over 30 wonderful years.

Born in Providence, RI, she was the beloved daughter of the late Kenneth Silvia and Lillian (O'Rourke) Silvia of Cranston. Cheryl grew up in Rhode Island and graduated from Cranston High School East before continuing her education at Bryant College.

For many years, Cheryl worked as a printing estimator, where she was admired for her strong work ethic and dedication to her craft.

She will be remembered for her love of animals, especially her dogs, who were her constant companions. She found great joy in dog training and had a lifelong passion for cooking and baking. Family gatherings and holidays were especially meaningful to Cheryl, as she treasured the simple gift of being together with those she loved.

Cheryl also enjoyed music, especially from the 1960s, and loved to dance whenever the opportunity arose. She was known as someone who kept busy, appreciated cooking shows, and always found ways to bring warmth and care to those around her.

In addition to her partner and mother, she leaves her siblings, Bruce Silvia of Warwick, Kenneth Silvia Jr of Warwick, and Cindy Landi of Port Orange, FL; her nephews, Nathan Silvia and Daniel Silvia, both of Warwick.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to Cheryl's Life Celebration to be held with Visiting Hours on Thursday, August 21, 2025 from 9 AM to 11 AM in the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Road, Rt. 122, Cumberland. A prayer service will be held at 11 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Cumberland.
