Cheryl Lemons Obituary
She is survived by her cherished mother, Betty Southwick; beloved son Jameson (Jennifer) Lemons and daughter Courtney (Mike) Weckesser; loving grandma to four grandchildren, Christian and Charlotte Lemons, Harper and Fitzgerald Weckesser; numerous other cousins and friends.
Cheryl was proceeded in death by her devoted husband, Donald Lemons, Jr.; father, Paul Southwick.
Cheryl graduated from Northwest High School in 1976 and Western Michigan University in 1980. She worked at Jackson County ISD for 28 years as the Assistant Director of Human Resources. Cheryl loved helping others. She enjoyed being outside and spending time with family. She had a great sense of humor and few people crossed her path that she didn't share a smile or laugh with.
At her request cremation has taken place and a memorial service to honor her life will be held at Calvary United Methodist Church (925 Backus Street, Jackson, Michigan), on Saturday, February 14, 2026, beginning at 11 A.M. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, February 13, 2026, beginning at 4 P.M. until 7 P.M. at the Hampton Funeral Home (4204 Ann Arbor Road, Jackson) and Saturday, 10 A.M. until the time of the service at the church.

I´m so sorry for Cheryl´s passing. I knew her, her parents, and her brother, Don, from many years ago at Calvary UM Church. We had a lot of fun in the youth group! She was always kind and funny in so many ways. Even though I haven´t seen her in many years she is a person who I will miss. Peace to her family and all who love her.

When I was applying for a position, at JCISD Career Center, Cheryl was so kind as to share information about the hiring process. After hiring, she always made a point ask me now and then how it was going. God bless her.

Cheryl was absolutely one of the most loyal and transparent professional colleagues I had the opportunity to work with. You could take her word to the bank.
