On Sunday, March 23, 2025, the world lost a radiant spirit as Cheryl Kay Shriner of Hanover, Maryland, passed away peacefully. Born in Baltimore to her loving parents, Helen and John Walker, Cheryl dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker and a nurturing stay-at-home mom. Her passion for life was evident in her enjoyment of dancing and her delightful talent for crocheting, each stitch woven with love and joy.
Cheryl's legacy lives on through her devoted husband of 60 years, Mike Shriner, who stood faithfully by her side. She is survived by her loving children: Kasia L. Grabowski and her husband Trevor, Amy L. Roberts and her husband Joshua, Jeff M. Shriner, Sr. and his wife Michele, and Scott D. Shriner, Sr. and his wife Kathie. Cheryl found immense joy in her role as a grandmother to her cherished grandchildren—Amber, D.J., Shawna, Kaelah, Maliyah, Dominic, Braidon, Destiny, Charlee, Jeff Jr., Jake, Scottie, and Shane—and as a beloved great-grandmother to Kaylin, Kalel, Kamryn, Kai, Kayson, Kallie, Aiden, Blake, Ezra, Eli, Bailey, Elliott, Isaiah, Jaxtyn, Angelo, Noah, and Easton. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family; she is also survived by her sister, Judith L. Black, along with many nieces, nephews, and cherished friends.
Though we mourn the passing of Cheryl, we celebrate the beautiful memories she created and the love she shared. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two beautiful nieces, Penny and Kelly, as well as her great-granddaughter, Quinnlee, whose memory remains forever etched in the hearts of those who loved her. A special thanks from the Shriner family goes out to the wonderful and caring staff at Hospice of the Chesapeake (Pasadena); specifically Steph, Carrie, Marianne, Dana, Dee, Gloria and Danielle.
