Cheryl E. Smith

Cheryl Eileen (Moen) Smith, 78, Fargo, N.D., died Friday, Oct. 20. She was born on October 21, 1944, in Mayville, ND to parents Hilmer and Thora (Berglie) Moen. She grew up on a farm in the Clifford area. She graduated from Clifford High School and also attended Dakota Business College. Cheryl married Duane Smith at Peace Lutheran Church in Fargo, ND on May 7th, 1965.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, her infant sister, Patricia, her brother Denis Moen, and her sister Bonnie (Moen) Knight.  She is survived by her husband Duane; sisters, Gloria Brend, Renee Press, Julie (Michael) Walz; and her brothers, Don (Connie) Moen, David Moen, Dean Moen, and Del Moen; her children, Christopher (Fargo), Charles (Fargo), Chad (Darcy) Harwood, and Jaime (Eric) Paulson (Fargo). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ray Smith (Valley City), Morgan Smith (Ft. Worth, TX) Codie Huisenga (Valley City), Mira, Ian and Jenai Paulson (Fargo), Tyrel Uhrich (Fargo), Ian Uhrich (Devils Lake) and her great-grandchildren, Harmony and Riley Huisenga (Valley City). She leaves behind many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at 11 AM with a visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Moorhead, MN.

Burial will be on Friday, October 27, at 2:00 PM in Fargo National Cemetery.
