Cheryl E. Thomas Fauquher
March 3, 1951 – November 28, 2025
Cheryl Elaine Thomas Fauquher, 74, passed away on November 28, 2025, after complications from a lifelong illness at Ball Memorial Hospital in
Muncie, Indiana. She was born in Frankfort, Indiana on March 3, 1951, to Louis & Twanette Thomas. Cheryl married Ronald K. Fauquher on June 9, 1973, in Yorktown, Indiana where they lived her entire married life.
Cheryl grew up in Frankfort, Indiana before moving to Yorktown in her sophomore year of high school and maintained many Frankfort Friends throughout her life. Cheryl was a 1969 graduate of Yorktown High School and a 1971 graduate of Indiana Business College. In her early years, she worked as an administrative assistant for Hayden, Quinn & Pollard manufacturing agency in Muncie. After children Jennifer & Andrew came along she became a devoted mother, wife, daughter, daughter-in-law and active volunteer for church, school and community activities.
Cheryl was a member of Yorktown Methodist Church where she had served as a long-time chair of the Board of Trustees and a Sunday School Teacher. You could often find her in the church kitchen preparing meals for funerals and special events or spearheading a maintenance project. Throughout the years she served as Cub Scout den and pack leader, and Brownie, and Girl Scout leader. A natural leader and organizer, one could find Cheryl leading any organization in which she became involved, from resettling Vietnamese refugees to advocating for those in need. Her friends and family will tell you that she was a "let's get it done" kind of girl in any project she was involved. She worked on projects serving others until her final days.
Cheryl enjoyed long summer days with friends at Heritage Lake, family trips to Disney World, and traveling with her husband on work-related trips. She could always be found on the sidelines and in the bleachers of children's baseball and soccer games and her grandchildren's swimming, soccer games, and dance recitals. Even in the snow and rain.
Cheryl is survived by her best friend and husband, Ron, of 52 years and by their daughter Jennifer Fauquher and son Andrew Fauquher both of Yorktown, Indiana. She is also survived by grandchildren Payton Newberry of Lafayette and Colton Fauquher, Carter Fauquher and Ainsley Fauquher all of Yorktown. She leaves behind a brother Randy Thomas (wife Paula) of Yorktown and Brother-in-Law Terry Fauquher (wife Toni) of Anderson, Brother-in-law Mike Fauquher ( Jan Clow) of Ft. Myers, Florida, Sister-in-law Lois Bemis (fiancé Mark Elliott) of Yorktown, Sister-in-law Brenda Pavey of Indianapolis and Sister-in-law Barbara Thomas (husband Greg) of Kokomo. She was blessed to be "Aunt Cheryl" to more than 25 nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
