Cheryl Anne Weis Rutter

I was led here today, on Christmas, and unbeknownst to me, someone who surely was like a Mother to me has passed. I love her dearly and accredit My Love For Dooney & Bourne Handbags because of her influence in my life. She carried heavy weight, and did it so eloquently, for I never saw her miss a beat ~ISRAEL ODEI

Cheryl held a surprise baby shower for me at her home in Covington in 1993 before our daughter was born. We were next door neighbors of the Rutters. My Mom lived in Tennessee and was caring for my Dad who was very ill at the time. I was so surprised about the shower! That was so sweet and thoughtful of Cheryl. I was so blessed she did this. I will never forget this kind act of love. Melissa Elliott

Cheryl and her siblings were like family to us! Our mothers are still best friends at the age of 90. I remember visiting Cherrie and her family when we were kids. We were always excited to spend the night and get to ride their horses. Later in my professional life, I was able to visit Cheryl and Gene when working in New Orleans. Very fond memories for sure. Rest in Peace Cheryl!
