Heaven gained another special angel. Cheryl Cass Womack, 65, of Goldsboro, gained her angel wings on Sunday, September 21, 2025 with her loving family by her side. Born in Jackson County, Missouri on September 19, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lila Cass.

In addition to her parents, Cheryl was preceded in death by her grandparents and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Cheryl leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Gregg Womack of Goldsboro; daughter, Melanie Gill (David) of Stedman; sons, Michael Womack (fiancée, Mahta Nazari) of Chapel Hill and Matthew Womack of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Sierra and Logan Gill of Stedman and Ayden and Aria Womack of Goldsboro; siblings, Charles Cass of Fayetteville, Cindy Baker (Richard) of Wilmington, Linda Hudson (Anthony) of Stedman, Sandy Mason (Jeff) of Dunn, Jimmy Cass (June) of Fayetteville; aunt, Carleen Nixon (Cecil) of Decatur, TN; uncle, Gene Belflowers of Wade; eight nieces and nephews; nine great-nieces and nephews; and several cousins; sister-in-law, Claudia Jones (Joe) of Fayetteville; brother-in-law, Mark Womack; special friend, Sherry Jones of Goldsboro; special sister, Karen C. Stone of Fayetteville; and Annette Mitchell of Goldsboro.

A service to celebrate Cheryl's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be directed to Cures for the Colors, c/o SMOC, 203 Cox Blvd, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Seymour Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
