It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chester Martin "Marty" Boyd, aged 72, of Bessemer City, North Carolina. Chester was born on February 16, 1954, and departed this life on March 14, 2026.
Marty was a vibrant soul who embraced life with a passion that inspired those around him. He loved the thrill of NASCAR racing and spent countless hours reveling in the excitement of the sport. His adventurous spirit also led him to the skies, where he enjoyed flying airplanes and savoring the freedom of flight. In quieter moments, Marty found joy in the serenity of fishing, often spending time by the water, reflecting and recharging.
Above all, Marty cherished his family. He found immense happiness in creating memories with his loved ones and treasured the time spent together. His laughter, kindness, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Marty's life will be honored and celebrated with a funeral service at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road officiated by Pastor Dennis Gomez. The family will receive friends from noon-1:00 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.
