Chester Chapman Obituary
CHESTER "CHET" CHAPMAN, age 89 of Lancaster, Ohio, and formerly of Kermit, W.Va., passed away Wednesday, July 26, 2023, at his residence. He was born May 30, 1934, in Selwyn (Marrow Bone Creek), W.Va., the son of Clyde and Jessie Hall Chapman. He was a Marine Corps veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none, having a passion for woodworking and fishing. He owned several restaurants with his wife in West Virginia.
He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda (Jeremy) Gray, of Lancaster; sons C. Bruce "Patch" Chapman of Fort Gay, W.Va., and Kevin D. Chapman of North Carolina; grandchildren Benjamin Baisden, Joshua (Tambra) Baisden, Christina (Jason) Wellman, Jaclyn (Jason) Hudnall, Cody Bruce Chapman, Matthew (Christina) Chapman, Mitchell (Ashley) Chapman; great-grandchildren Heaven, Judaea, Christopher, Adam, Zayden, Logan, Sadie, Jackie, Jason, Jacob W., Josiah, Mason, Jacob C., Emma, Landon, Lucas, Callie, Cassie, and Jayden; great- great-grandchildren, Aviah and Selah. He is preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Betty Chapman; parents; grandson Christopher Chapman; great-grandson, Levi Chapman; daughter-in-law Delcie Chapman; siblings Edith Osendott, Luther Chapman, Robert Chapman.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2023, at Taylor-Theller Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens, Lancaster. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
