Chester Newsome Obituary
Chester Newsome, age 72, of Virgie, Ky., passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, Ky. Chester was born on Dec. 30, 1952 to his parents the late Darling Newsome and Virginia Newsome Newsome. He was the husband of Loretta Damron Newsome, a retired coal miner, and a member of Liberty United Baptist Church.
Along with his parents, Chester was preceded in death by one sister.
Along with his wife, Chester is survived by one son, Ryan (Gretchen) Newsome, two daughters, Alisha (Jimmy) Emmons, Alexandria (Tim Hopkins) Newsome, a brother, Vester (Linda) Newsome, and several other brothers and sisters, special nieces: Carmen Hall-Lamb, Cara Schwalbach, his favorite sister in law: Evelyn (David) Hall, two grandchildren, Will & Braylee, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Church services will be Saturday and Sunday at 7p.m. The funeral will be Monday, April 28, 2025 at 12 Noon at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home with Kevin Bowling, Tyler Bentley, and others officiating. Entombment will follow in the Annie E. Young Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Liberty United Baptist Church Youth Group, P.O. Box 72, Myra, Ky. 41549.
