January 2, 1955 - December 30, 2025
Chester William Wallace, 70, of New Castle, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 30, 2025.
Chester was employed at Moog in Blacksburg, VA, for 45 years, retiring in August 2019. He worked on the family farm and devoted his efforts full-time upon his retirement. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing the fresh produce with his community. Chester was a very compassionate person, always willing to help any neighbor or friend, and will be remembered for his giving heart.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William "Bill" Wallace and Ida Mae Ruble Wallace. Those left to cherish his memory include his sister, Esther Wallace; and special cousins, Sandra Ruble, Linda Reynolds (Raymond), Judy Looney (Joe – deceased), and Betsy Daniel; along with his beloved dog, Ruby, and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, January 3, 2026, at Paitsel Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the Ross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Simmonsville Volunteer Fire Dept. 7932 Cumberland Gap Rd, New Castle, VA 24127.

Chester was a good man. I have known him for a long time. He was kind and would help if you needed it and even asked if he thought you needed help. He knew his job and knew how to help there. He was a hard worker and cared about the people around him. He will surely be missed. I hope someone will take care of his dog. He talked about his dog the last time I saw him a few weeks ago. I know he loved the farm and his family. We will miss your smile Chester and maybe we will meet again.

Chester Wallace I really enjoyed working with you so many years we butted heads like brother and sister but we got along we laugh it off the next day and you and my husband Harold we're together 42years at Poly Scientific / Moog in the same Department you two also retired just a few years apart... you and him joked and carried on a lot when I spoke with you Chester you always thought so much of Harold and he did you as well everyone liked you Chester everyone Loved you I don't know of any person who did not meet you that did not like you and being in your company... I will always hold close to my heart the story you would tell me of your life and the ones you tell me when I would just laugh I couldn't help it... you just had that sense of humor you had about you you'll never be forgotten may you go rest high Chester and say hello to Harold for me ..you 2 worked closely together . You 2 retired close just a few years Harold 42 years you at 45. you 2 went to be with the Lord in the same year both peacely at home things like this weren't supposed to happen but it's in God's will and we all will have to accept it.. even though it'll be hard. Rest in Peace My Dear Friend until we all can meet you again someday.... Rest in Pease My Dear Friend ....
