Christine L. Bindig
Dedication of Life
Christine L. Bindig, age 75 of Oxford, passed away on January 20, 2026 with family by her side. Chris was preceded in death by her best friend and loving husband, Rick Bindig. Blessed mother of Eric Alan (Dawn) Bindig, Leah Marie Bindig, Adrienne Christine (Scott) Hayes, and Michael Garrett (Ashley) Bindig. Cherished nana of Delilah, Hope (Gage), Jeremiah (Jordyn), Naomi (Bailey), Grace (Matt), Lydia, Asher, Abigail, Azariah, and Ella and two great-grandsons, Nick and John. Chris was preceded in death by her sister MaryEvelyn Romines and is survived by her siblings Leslie (Marta) Bays and Elaine Ewert.
If there was only one word to describe Chris, it would be love. If you knew her, you knew she loved well. Chris was passionate about being a mom to her four children. Motherhood was something she cherished and took great pride in. While she would be the first to admit she didn't do it perfectly, she was the epitome of a strong, nurturing and selfless mom. She was so warmhearted, that many of her children's friends would call her "mom," because they felt as if they were a part of her family.
If you ask any of her children what their fondest memories are of her, they might say something about coming home to the smell of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies, root beer floats, going on picnics with her to Dodge Park, hearing her blast music whether it was while she was cleaning, or for a spontaneous car karaoke session, watching her spend hours making homemade candy for their Easter baskets, hollering out to her children, "I LOVE YOU!" as they waited at the end of the driveway to board the school bus, sitting on her lap while she read some of her favorite books to them like, "The Giving Tree," or "Giraffe and a Half." She was also the best snuggler and gave the warmest, most authentic hugs.
She took great pride in teaching her children (and anyone else who would listen) about God and how important it was to love others and to live your faith out loud. Chris loved and served the Lord with the truest heart. She served as a children's Christian education teacher, Stonecroft Bible Study leader, hospice volunteer, Girl Scout leader, was involved in hospitality ministry and Stephen Ministry. Her legacy will live on in her children as they too serve the Lord. There was no greater honor for her than to know that her children love and follow the Lord.
Chris was blessed with 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild that made her life even richer! Her grandchildren, with much fondness, will always remember her for her red lipstick (that was her trademark), the numerous "puzzle fests," decorating for holidays, McDonald's picnics in the car, snuggling and watching a good Disney movie, baking cookies together, playing some intense games of spoons, finding her endless stash of Altoid mints, hollering "You go girl," or "Yeah, buddy," and she never missed signing a card with xoxo (hugs and kisses). She was the essence of a loving and dedicated Nana.
After spending most of her life as a stay at home mom, she ventured out into the working world where she became employed at Edward Jones Investments as a Branch Office Administrator. She eventually retired from there after 16 years of dedicated service. Chris never knew a stranger and her love for people shined through in her workplace as well!
Chris leaves behind a beautiful legacy that will live on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren. They take much comfort in knowing that their beloved Mom and Nana is celebrating her eternal life in the presence of her Savior! "Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: "Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all." Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate."
