Chris LaRoque

Chris Bennett LaRoque, Indian name "Oti jcaga Growing Thunder" passed away September 7, 2024. A wake will be held at 6 PM, Thursday, September 12, 2024 and a funeral service will be held at 12 PM, Friday, September 13, 2024. Services will take place at Kills at Night Community Center in Hays.
Chris was born January 31, 1979 in Fort Belknap, MT to Georgiann La Roque and Lawrence Cochran. His grandparents are George LaRoque and Serena King LaRoque, Ester Adams and David Cochran and Happy Doney.
Chris was the first original member of The Lewis and Clark Hotshot Crew, he also worked as a firefighter, and in fencing. Throughout his life, Chris was someone who was always willing to help, working in the community wherever he was needed. He enjoyed working with friends, visiting family, hunting, and fishing. He was raised to know the Lord and would request prayer from all.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother Georgiann LaRoque Doney; grandfathers George LaRoque, Happy Doney, and David Cochran; grandmothers Serena King LaRoque and Ester Adams; aunts Lorene Doney, Alyce Marie Hockhalter, Loretta Cookie Stiffarm, Jeb Stiffarm, Gerald Jeb Stiffarm; brothers Ajay LaRoque, Jasper Cochran; aunts and uncles Basil Doney, Judy Kay Doney, Evelyn Doney, Catherine Doney, Hooker Cochran, Ronnie Doney, Sanford Doney, Betty Jean Doney, Jess, George Cochran, Clare Cochran, Michael James; nieces Kelsey Cochran, Ann Marie Lamere; and nephew Tyler Cochran.
