Chris Edward Nelson, 72, passed away on October 16, 2025.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.
Memorials may be made to the family.
Chris was born on December 10, 1952, in Moline, the son of Richard and Ardith (Hilmer) Nelson. He married Maureen McGuiness, and they later divorced. Chris worked at Yellow Roadway and later moved to Total Quality Logistics. In retirement he worked part time at Home Depot. Chris enjoyed watching West Virigina sports and cheered for the Chicago White Sox and the Green Bay Packers. He liked visiting National Parks, especially Yellowstone and fishing.
Survivors include his son, Thomas Nelson of Plainfield, IL and daughter, Mariah Nelson of Aurora, IL; siblings, Roger Nelson, Joyce McCutcheon and Carol Nelson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
