Chris Russell, 80, of Rockville, Indiana, passed away October 9, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born August 26, 1945, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of John Mislivec and Doris McDonald Mislivec. She married Dr. Dale Russell, DVM on January 30, 1975. Dale preceded her in death on April 3, 2015.
Chris graduated from Schulte High School in 1963. She worked at the Rockville Veterinary Clinic and retired from West Central Veterinary Clinic. Chris was a member of the Rockville Veterinary Clinic Bowling Team. She enjoyed her quarterly trips to Las Vegas with dear friends and enjoyed taking road trips with her husband. Chris loved watching Hallmark movies and her favorite show, the Big Bang Theory.
Chris is survived by two children, Troy Mazely of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Robyn White of Rockville; 4 step-children: Ron Russell of Rockville, Gary Russell of Phoenix, Arizona, Larry Russell of Addison, Texas, and Dave Russell of Phoenix, Arizona; 6 grandchildren: Adam White of Rockville; Austin and Amber White and their children, Anderson and Ally, of Rockville; Ethan and Tayler White and their children, Jensen and Quilla; Ashton and Aaron Kite and their son, Whitley; Erica and Adam Worland and their daughter, Lyndie, of Bicknell, Indiana; Kyle Mazely of Clarksville, Tennessee; and Amber Bentley of Phoenix, Arizona. She is also survived by cousins, Elaine (Don) Woods, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; stepdaughter, Terry Holt; 2 brothers, Donald Mislivec, and Phillip Mislivec; sister Maureen Ceader; step-grandson, Kyle Kuhn; dear friend, Sue Engle; and 3 dogs, Suzer, Cricket and Scooter.
To honor Chris's wishes, there will be no services. Cremation has been chosen with inurnment at Beacon Hill Cemetery, south of Rockville. Care has been entrusted to Barnes and Rice Funeral Home of Rockville.
