James "Chris/Itchy" Wiedner, 72, of O'Fallon, IL, born to Earl and Margaret Weidner (nee Holt) on March 25, 1952, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Friday, May 3, 2024.
Chris began working as a Radioman Seaman in the US Navy in 1970 and continued for six years, earning a National Defense Service Medal. He then went on to be a chemical operator at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals for over twenty years before retiring to "the simple life" in O'Fallon, IL.
Chris loved to garden and always tended to it, and he was known to be a grill master. His life revolved around his grandkids, having a very special relationship with all of them. He kept the childlike wonder and fun alive for them consistently. 1970's rock music was Chris's favorite music to listen to, Little River Band being his favorite band of them all. Chris was full of love and life and will be missed.
Preceding him in death are his parents; brother, Randy Wiedner; and sister, Marie Wessels.
Surviving Chris is his wife Deborah "Debb" Wiedner (nee Dunn); three children, Kelly Clary, Dustin Hadfield, Scott Dunn; 5 grandchildren, Tessa Clary, Allie Clary, Jaden Dunn, Declan Dunn, Louis Winer; and three nieces, Kristi Merz, Amy Geisser, and Erin Belba.
