Chriselda Dueñez

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Chriselda Dueñez, age 48, at Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, Texas. Chriselda was a vibrant soul who filled her life with joy through her love for 80s music, leisurely walks around the city lake, and evenings spent at the movies. Her happiest moments were often found in the backyard, barbecuing with family and friends, and sharing her love for music, especially when she had the chance to sing karaoke.

Chriselda was preceded in death by her beloved father, Antonio Dueñez Jr., and her cherished maternal grandmother, Eleanor Galvan. She is survived by her devoted husband, Joe Barrera; her loving mother, Joann Dueñez; and her three cherished children, Jacob Joel Zarate, Brittany Denise Dueñez, and Leilani Kaileen Dueñez. Chriselda was also a proud grandmother to five grandchildren: Aria Lynn Morales, Lyla Vey Morales, Abel Jeremiah Morales, Sebastian Osegueda, and Christian Osegueda. She will be missed dearly by her siblings, Antonio III, Sandra, and Joanna Dueñez.

The family invites friends and loved ones to join them for a visitation from 3 to 9 p.m., with a Rosary at 7 p.m., at the Rudy Garza Funeral Home Chapel of Peace. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with a chapel service at 7 p.m. All services will conclude after the visitation.
