Christian Gregory Hackl

Born: November 16, 2009

Welcomed into Heaven: January 21, 2026

Christian Gregory Hackl, of Florissant, MO, was welcomed into Heaven on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at the age of 16. Though his time on earth was far too short for those who loved him, Christian is now healed and whole in the presence of his Savior. Christian was the precious son of Eric “Poppy” and Michelle “Mommy” Hackl and the treasured brother of Geneva “Gigi” and Eli Hackl. He was the loving grandson of Carrol “Nana” (the late Lester “Paw Paw”) McMillian, Ann “Grandma” (Raymond “Papa Ray”) Held, and the late Gregory Hackl. He was the beloved nephew of Kim “Mimi” (Jeff) Kinney, Sarah (Mike) Evans, and the honorary nephew of Ben and Brandi Akers. He was the cherished cousin of Brittany, Michael B., Nathan, Michael E., Madeline, and Sydney.

Christian was always on the move, with a happy, bubbly spirit that matched his cuddly and caring nature. His family lovingly called him “Buddy Boy”, “Pal”, “Chris-Chris” and “Chris”. He loved Pete the Cat and enjoyed reading the books and singing along to the songs. He loved watching Dora and Diego and enjoyed collecting the DVDs. He loved watching PBS kids, especially Superwhy, Sid the Science Kid, Dinosaur Train, Word World and Arthur. He also loved watching Disney+ and had many favorite movies. His all time favorites were, the live action Lion King and Toy Story. No matter the weather, Christian loved spending time swinging outside. He would swing so high. Christian loved food. Tacos were his favorite and pizza was a very close 2nd. He also never turned down potato chips. He enjoyed school and riding the bus. He cherished the relationships he made at Northview High School, where he was encouraged, supported, and cared for by his teachers, classmates, and staff.

Christian was dearly loved and will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. His family rests in the promise that in Christ, death does not have the final word. “God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying…” — Revelation 21:4

Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice that Christian is now fully restored in the presence of Jesus, where his joy is complete. We cling to the precious hope that this goodbye is only temporary, and that we will see him again in glory.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful PICU nurses and staff at St. Louis Children’s Hospital, whose compassion and care meant so much throughout Christian’s journey.

“See you in a wink” my sweet Buddy Boy
