Christian Markell Rencountre

Christian "Chin Chin" Markell Rencountre was born on June 09, 2008 to Roy Rencountre and Nila Rencountre. Christian made his journey to the Spirit World on December 07, 2025 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Christian, known to all of us as "Chin Chin", was a beautiful soul. He was the most gentle, thoughtful, and caring boy; he always conducted himself with polite manners and was the first to lend a helping hand to anyone, especially family. For everyone who loved him, Christian was pure joy. He was the kind of light who would walk into a room and instantly fill it with brightness. He had a rich imagination, pouring his creativity into his drawings of his favorite anime characters to escape into his own little world. He also found deep comfort in listening to his favorite music and surrounding himself with his friends and loved ones. He cherished quiet moments, too; he loved to take walks and found true appreciation in the world that surrounded him. Though his time here was heartbreakingly short, he filled all of our lives with memories that will carry us forward and keep him in our hearts. He leaves behind an eternal legacy of strength, boundless kindness, and a beautiful character that remains a part of his family and friends' hearts forever. The deep void his passing leaves will never truly be filled, but we will always continue to pray for him on his journey and live our lives in a good way in his memory.
Christian is survived by his loving parents, Roy Rencountre and Nila Rencountre; his sisters, Lona Rencountre, Krystal Rencountre, Waniye Rencountre, Olivia Rencountre, Taisa Rencountre, and Meesha Rencountre; his brothers, Marcus Rencountre, Destin Rencountre, and Shaun Rencountre; his maternal grandmother, Betty Handley; his beloved nieces and nephews, Nate Hackett, Hailey Hackett, Precious Pourier, Aaleyah Pourier, Layla Pourier, Waylon Pourier, Aubrey McCloskey, Alex McCloskey, Kaine Rencountre, and Kaizer Rencountre. He is also survived by all of his Uncles and Aunties in the Rencountre, Running Shield, Handley, and extended families, as well as all of his dear friends, mentors, and advocates.
Christian was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Jim and Becky Rencountre; his maternal grandfather, Gerald Handley; and all his loving relatives who are there to greet him in the spirit world.
Pallbearers will be Nate, Waylon Jr, Davis, Caleb, Trey, and Jacob
Honorary Pallbearers will be all his Friends, Family, and everyone who loved and cared for Christian.
The family would like to extend their greatest appreciation and love to Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, Pine Lawn Memorial of Rapid City, Woyatan Lutheran Church of Rapid City and everyone for their condolences and support.
