Christian Dietrich Rodick III

Christian Dietrich Rodick III, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on October 1, 1936, to the late Christian Dietrich Rodick Jr. and Marie Ruth Gunn, Christian was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Winnie Mullins Rodick, and his stepfather, Frederick Anepohl.
Christian proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force and went on to retire with the 159th Division of the Air National Guard, achieving the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He was also a dedicated and respected business owner, serving as owner and president of United Machinery in New Orleans.
Christian is survived by his devoted wife of 42 years, Patricia Kreihs Rodick. He leaves behind his children, Gina Rodick, Kevin Rodick (Erin), Nanette Rodick, and Judee Spansel (Henry); his cherished grandchildren, Kristin Fallon (Jason), Katherine Dornan, Kathleen, Shannon, and Maureen Rodick, Russel Spansel and Ashley Camardelle Danny); and his great-grandchildren, Finley and Winnie Fallon. He also embraced a blended family with warmth and care, including his stepchildren Anne-Marie Russo, Darren Russo, David Russo, and Christopher Russo, as well as step-grandchildren Preston and Peyton Fremin. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Ingram.
Christian will be remembered for his dedication, his entrepreneurial spirit, his love for family, and the many lives he touched throughout his years. His legacy of service, hard work, and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Details regarding memorial services will be shared with family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit Greenwood Funeral Home, located at 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124, on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, starting at 11:30 a.m. A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 1:00 PM. The burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
