Christine Hues

Christine "Chris" Hues, of Rockford departed this earthly life February 7, 2025. She was born December 28, 1955 in Forest City, Arkansas the daughter of Mines and Magdalene Glass. Christine lived in Rockford since 1978 coming from Chicago, IL. She married Luchen Hues August 13, 1973, he preceded her in death. Christine was employed as a Certified Nurses Assistant by Alden Park Strathmoor and Amberwood Nursing Home many years before retiring. She was a member of Love of Christ Ministries, serving as a Mother, as a Secretary, Treasurer and Sunday School Teacher. She graduated from school in Chicago and received her certification from Rock Valley College.
Christine leaves to cherish many loving memories, two daughters, Tijuana (Augustus ) Davis and Carla (Curtis Harvey) Renea; son, Antoine (Tracey) Glass; 13 grandchildren including special grandson, Deszreeon Hues; 22 great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Ann Nichols, Mattie Prunty, Felicia (Gregory) Bedford and Sharon Jones; three brothers Daniel ( Angela) Glass, Eric Glass and Timothy Glass; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her parents, husband; and son, Luchen Hues III; two sisters, Cecila Glass and Julia Beiter; and brother, Michael Glass.
Service will be held 12 noon Friday, February 21, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. 200 N. Johnston Ave. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
