Christine L. Lavelle, age 72 of Horseheads, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 at Mercy House of the Southern Tier surrounded by her loving family. She was born and raised in Yonkers, the daughter of the late Joseph and Adele (Salerno) Budrock. She married the love of her life, Eugene Lavelle, on May 20, 1973.
Christine adored her family and especially cherished her grandchildren. She was known for warm-heartedly doting on anyone who visited the Lavelle household, and no one ever left her home feeling hungry due to her generosity and graciousness. She also took pleasure in gardening and shopping for gifts.
Christines grandchildren were significantly touched by her, she provided them with many joyful moments and gifts. This made a lasting impact on their lives and they are forever grateful. The help and support she provided her two children to keep their own children happy will not be forgotten.
Christine is survived by her husband of 51 years Eugene, daughter Sarah Hayes of Fishkill, son and daughter-in-law Eric and Barbra Lavelle of Painted Post, grandchildren Alissa and Sienna Hayes and Liam Lavelle, and other extended family members.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Carpenters Funeral Home at 14 East Pulteney Street in Corning on Friday, November 1, 2024 from 4-6 pm. A celebration of Christines life will follow there at 6 pm. To view the service via livestream, please go to www.carpentersfuneralhome.com shortly before 6 pm and click on the livestreaming button.
