Christine “Chris” Ortega,
June 3, 1967 – December 28, 2025
Chirstine was unexpectedly called to our Lord on December 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. A devoted family woman, Christine’s greatest joy was found in the time spent with those she held most dear. Her passion for Dallas Cowboys was matched only by her love of the game itself. For years she took to the softball field alongside her family, creating bonds and memories that would last a lifetime. Whether gathering along the table for her beloved tacos and posole or filling a room with her favorite music, Christine had a gift for bringing people together and making every moment feel special. Her warmth, spirit, and infectious enthusiasm for life will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Christine was proceeded in death by her paternal grandparents Onesimo and Maria Inez Ortega; maternal grandparents Antonio and Tomasita Atencio; parents Sebedello and Tomasita Ortega; son Gilbert Gonzales; sister’s Dorlinda Valdez and Annette Gonzales; nephew’s James Sanchez, Peter Sanchez and Steven Quintana III, and her fur baby “Girl” .
Christine is survived by daughter’s Ileen Gallegos (Gabriel) and Seantae Marchello; siblings Nora Gurule (Tommy), Geraldine Carmona (Rustico), Antonette Quintana, Onesimo Ortega (Roberta); brother-in-law Juice Valdez; grandkids Annette, Larissa and Gilbert Valdez, Neahmiah, Joziah and Jerymiah Gallegos; great grandkids Brooklyn and Braylen; special nieces and nephews Valerie Ortega (Elias, Savannah, Emily and Aubrey), Sheleene Gurule (Abraham, Landon and Alondra), Andy Quintana (Mia and Lucas); dear friend Christina Cardenas (Johnathan, Christopher and Monika), as well as numerous other nieces, nephews, family, and friends who loved her dearly.
