Christine Taylor Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Baker-Isaac Funeral Services - Bridgeport on Dec. 22, 2025.
Christine Taylor was born on September 28, 1944, to the late Ogia and Jennie Mae Taylor in Rupert, GA.

Before graduating from Harding High School in 1962, Christine received a reference from one of her high school teachers for employment at Hoffman Fuel in Bridgeport, CT. From there, she worked at TLC fuel in Portland, CT and then Clairol in Stamford, CT as a Junior Accountant. After years of working in Corporate America, Christine decided to open her own daycare, named Scooby Doo Daycare Center, which she ran successfully for 25 years. She cherished being a daycare provider, so much so, that she stayed in touch with several of "her kids" into their adult lives. Christine loved the Lord; so in 1982 she, along with one other church member, started a credit union at East End Baptist Tabernacle, where she attended and served as Manager of the Credit Union.

She leaves to mourn: three nephews, Eugene Troy Maxwell, Calvin Jordan Taylor, and Stephen Taylor. One niece, Dionne Jackson, and four great nephews: Troy Isaiah Maxwell, Joseph Eugene Maxwell, August Taylor, Brandon Jackson, and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her sisters Margaret Taylor Maxwell and Alberta "Bee Bee" Taylor, her brother, Calvin Taylor, and a daughter at birth.

A Celebration of Christine's life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 12:00pm, at East End Baptist Church 548 Central Avenue, Bridgeport, CT 06607. The family will receive friends starting at 11:00am until time of service.
