Christophe "Chris" Bertrand Elise

Chris was a kind man with a big heart. He was generous to my son Liam and our family at a difficult point in our life. We are forever grateful. Men like Chris live on in and around us, they never really leave nor the big images they create.

Though I didn´t know you personally and not having met, I do know that you made a wonderful woman very very happy... Safe travels Chris, because as Joe Ely says "the road goes on forever..."

To Gigi and family and to the Elise family please accept our deepest condolences. We are so saddened too hear of your loss of such a phenomenal, humble, talented and great human. I began communicating with Chris on Instagram over a year ago. I don't communicate with many people other than my children. I was drawn to Chris's exceptional photography and his love of This country. He was such a positive influence on all that had the chance to know him. I am grateful that I knew him. I looked forward to the day that I could meet him in Leipers Fork. I shared his and Gigi's posts and photos with my wife and we fell in love with Leipers Fork and the state ofTennessee. Gigi, Kim and I were absolutely devastated to learn of Chris's passing, and our thoughts are with you and your family. We want you to know his memory is a blessing to both of us, he radiated an infectious joy and it was impossible not to love him. We cherish the time were able to spend with you and Chris. We loved Chris and will miss him dearly. He lived life to its fullest and on his own terms, and left his mark on a great many people. In a way, we are comforted that Chris went out on top - a happy man living the life he wanted to live - and that his legacy will live on in the members of his family. He will not be forgotten. Rest in Peace, friend.

A truly wonderful man - he loved his family first of all, and he loved his friends , his dogs, his beautiful land, and the United States. He has left a huge hole in all our hearts. Sit terra tibi levis. May the earth rest lightly on you.
