Christopher R. Allen

Chris, Allen as I called him was a dear friend and shipmate of mine. He was always cheerful, a jokester and life of the party. He made any situation and everyone around him cheerful. My fondest memory of Allen was our 2010 deployment together. At thw time, I was a Colts fan and he a Saints fan. We betted each other for that superbowl and he won! I remember him going to his rack after the game and getting his Saints blanket and bringing it back to the mess decks to rub it in my face. A truly remarkable guy whose life was ended too soon. Comfort comes knowing he is with the one true God and we shall rejoice once more in Heaven. He was more than a dear friend and shipmate, he was a brother to me in my heart. I became a Saints fan to forever honor my brother's memory. Gone but never forgotten. Rest in Heaven Allen. I love you bro!

I take u everywhere I go

Chris was always a joy to be around at church. We had great conversations during our adult Sunday school classes, and he was always eager to learn more about his walk with God. I lost my Mom on 12/14/22 and I found myself thinking about how Chris helped her when her wheelchair stopped working one Sunday after Church. He didn´t know her but he was kind enough to help a stranger to him. That´s just who was, a brother in Christ and a gentleman.

Allen was a person who knew how to brighten your day, bring the best out of you. The way you were always up to date on the latest fashion and sport news and could easily pick up any madden or sport game and play while talking trash was amazing and I'll truly miss that. We were in the young adult's Bible study class and often encouraged him to join the choir with us. There was never a time he wasn't smiling. He had such a positive attitude and was so drawn into the word of God. He will be deeply missed.

I am still in shock by the fact that I will not see you in Church, or in Sunday School class anymore. When I didn't see your car in the parking lot last Sunday I was crushed. You were truly a joy to teach and share God's Word with, and I will really miss our little talks after class; I always appreciated your honesty and transparency.
