Christopher's Obituary
Christopher James Barrera was called home on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at the age of 38. He was born August 16, 1985 in Mountain Home AFB, Idaho to Ernesto and Kelleen Barrera. He traveled to many places: Virginia, Iceland, and Okinawa growing up, and recently to Chicago, Seattle, Las Vegas and China for work. He is now reunited with his Grandparents Vicente and Irene Barrera. He is loved and will be greatly missed by his parents, Ernesto and Kelleen; his daughter Sonia Barrera. Grandparents Frank and Patricia Castro, siblings Patricia and Katherine Barrera, and nieces Jalynn Foster and Mila Barrera. May his soul soar high with those whom have awaited him. Until we meet again.
Everyone knows Chris lived for his daughter, Sonia, and was her stabilizing force. He was a selfless father, son, brother, and friend who always helped others. His cool head prevailed in heated situations and he always imparted wisdom. He had a forgiving heart, was reliable, and was always an engaging listener. We can all agree his honesty and sarcasm was appreciated. He loved his guns and loved to travel. Chris is dearly loved and will be missed by family and friends."
