Christopher Blackwell Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 11, 2025.
On March 19, 1972, Juanita (Specks/Neet) Constantine and Charles (Lefty) Blackwell had their baby boy, Christopher Charles Blackwell in New Orleans. He grew up in the Magnolia and repped the 3rd Ward. While Neet and Lefty went on to glory, Chris was filled with love by his big sister, Cheryl Lynn Sterling Davis (Fee) who is also at rest. She affectionately called him my lil fat baby brother. Chris loved life and was an avid fan of outdoor sports. He grew up playing short stop and second base in baseball, taking after his parents. He was a die-hard Saints fan and Cheryl would call him every Sunday to taunt him.
Chris was proud to be a Cohen Green Hornet of Walter L. Cohen Sr. High School which shortly after he went to prom with his love, his PnC, his Pumpkin, Stacy.
Chris and Stacy were inseparable and called themselves PnC (partners in crime) and celebrated 32 years of love in May. Anyone who knows Chris, knows he did not play about his wife or his family. Chris and Stacy had Christopher Charles (Poonie) Blackwell, Jr. (Karen) and Kristien Adamm (Kay) Blackwell in New Orleans prior to moving to Texas. Chris was a proud daddy and formed an unspeakable bond with his sons. He was Poonie's Pop and Boo and Kay was his Alford and he was Kay's Poppa. He and his daughter in law, Karen loved to joke around. She called him ole man and dinosaur and he called her Karen Rodriguez. Although miles away, he travelled to the N O frequently to be with his additional family, Lawrence and Lois Washington. Although they were his in-laws, he was their son and they were his parents. Chris was dearly loved by his sister-in-law and Nan, Carlyn W. (CaCa) Early and they would jokingly and lovingly say to each other, "I miss you CaCa" and she would say, "I miss you too Messywell".
He also had a special bond with his sister in law, Lauren W. Harrison (Badou), who doted on him being her favorite brother-in-law. Chris and his brother-in-law Stephen Michael (Steve) Washington (Tonya) had a hilarious relationship. They clowned all the time and called each other "Otter". He had a lot of nephews, Jamaal, Jason, John V, Donald, Ronald, Justin, Warnell and Travis. He told each of them they were his favorite, in front of all of them. Those nephews can hear "Hey my favorite.... nephew!" LOL He had a special place in his heart for his Sonphews,. Darren Antoine (Duggie) Early, Jr. and Colinn Adam (Cee) Early. He loved them like his own.
Chris loved his nieces, Nikia, Rachaun, Adriana, Cherronda, Cacy-Lynn, and Taheera. Quinnell Lavette (Que) Nelson, was his baby sister/niece/daughter. They grew up together and have continued a bond throughout the years. She was very active in his life and referred to him after her mom's passing as her parental. Eric Leon (Lil Eric) Dupclay, Jr. is his great nephew that has spent so much time with him over the years and often referred to as granphew. Chris had two BFF's, Tuwana L. (T) Kemp and Lemoine (Peanut) Jones. They were crazy about him and did anything he asked and gave him anything he wanted. Chris Jones was his dawg and they loved hanging out. Diana and Tim Price adopted us into their lives since moving to Texas. They have been rocks through valleys and sunshine through hills. They have a special place in Chris' heart. He also leaves behind our adopted sons, Jason Tyler, Trent (Shey), Robert and Jeremy. Through work, Chris became good friends with JR and Mark, they remained close to the end. Chris is survived by his brother Lawrence Sterling (Towana) and a host of brothers, sisters, cousins and an aunt.
