Christopher Ryan Frantz was born January 18, 1973 in Sioux Falls, SD.
On March 5, 1973 he was brought home to Frantz Farms by his new family, Jack and Marlene Frantz and sister Lori. He was baptized in the Ideal Presbyterian Church.
Chris attended Star Valley grade school and graduated from Winner High School in 1991 and from The University of SD in June of 1996.
Chris was raised on the family farm surrounded by grandparents, Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He spent many hours playing with cousins, dogs, cats and farm animals. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting birds, rabbits and shooting holes in the gravel pit!!
While in high school he was active in MYF, school plays, the Karate club and trying to stay out of trouble with friends, or at least not getting caught!
His love of guns led to a long career as a gun salesman. He started at First Stop Gun and then Cabela's in Rapid City, SD where he made lifelong friends. He moved back to Winner in 2012 and found his home at Jeff's Gun Vault and enjoyed all of his co-workers and "His customers". He made many friends along the way who were very special and help make the ups and downs of life tolerable. He was a blessing to all. He will be greatly missed.
Chris passed away Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD.
He is survived by his parents, Jack and Marlene (Konvalin) Frantz, sister Lori and Craig Schaeffer, nephew Alex Schaeffer and niece Marlee and Bailey Lanners and Great Nephew Cooper Cruz. Aunt Donna and Jon Hughes, Uncle Lee and Jannell Konvalin, and a host of cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Leonard and Marjorie Konvalin, and Gerald and Lorraine Frantz. Uncle Wes Frantz, Aunt Della Bolton, Uncle Dick and Donna Frantz and an infant cousin Brian Konvalin.
We believe Chris's legacy is to "BE A FRIEND"!
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorials to be given to the Youth Shooting Sports.
