Christopher Highlander Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Robertson County Funeral Home - Mount Olivet on Jan. 14, 2026.
Christopher "Chris" Lee Highlander, 50, of Mt. Olivet, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Though cancer touched his life, it never defined it. Chris' legacy is love – quiet, steady and everlasting. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

He was born on September 30, 1975, to the late William Lebus Highlander. He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Carol Workman and a brother-in-law, John F. Workman.

Chris leaves behind his wife of 25 years, Lisa Carol Workman Highlander; two daughters who were the light of his life, Cheyenne Lynn (Derek) Doyle and Carolyn Mae (Clayton) Powell; brother-in-law, Jason (Michelle) Workman; grandchildren, Olivia Lee, Brynlee Doyle; father-in-law, John M. Workman; a special friend, Greg Rose; and several nieces and nephews that he cherished.

Chris' favorite pastimes were fishing and deer hunting, but above all, his happiness was wrapped up in his grandbabies.

The family would like to extend thanks to the ladies of Hospice of Hope and all the amazing nurses in infusions at Harrison Memorial Hospital.

A service for Chris will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at Robertson County Funeral Home. Visitation will be held just prior to the service beginning at 11:00 A.M. and lasting until the time of service. Ron Spencer will lead services, and burial will follow in Shannon Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Derek Doyle, Jason Workman, Jaye Workman, Joseph Workman, Jamie Moore and Robert Fite. Honorary pallbearers will be Clayton Powell and Billy Highlander. Memorial contributions to help the family with services may be made to Robertson County Funeral Home, P.O. Box 610, Cynthiana, KY 41031; or call 859-234-4000 to make a donation.
