Christopher J. Jung: 89 years old of Oregon, IL, passed away peacefully Thursday April 20, 2023 at Harbour Village Retirement Community, Greendale, WI. He was born March 13, 1934 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Christopher & Mary Jung, living in Morton Grove, IL for many years before settling in Oregon, IL after his retirement in 1986. Christopher was a Loving, hard working, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose main goal in life was to provide a loving, safe, and comfortable home for his family of 4. In his profession he was a research chemist for 30+ years who strived for perfection in discovering new pharmaceutical drugs to combat diseases of the world. His passion in retirement was building and taking care of his dream house in Oregon, IL. He was a true nature lover who enjoyed camping, hiking and spending time outdoors in his yard. He and his wife volunteered their time at a nearby state park every year to help visitors and campers experience the beauty of the park.
Survivors include: Geralyn (daughter) & Robert Kocan, Fran Jung (daughter-in-law), James (grandson) Aimee & Oliver Kocan, Jenny Loper (granddaughter)
Funeral Services with Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10AM Wednesday April 26, 2023 at Our Lady of the Lakes-St. Peter Church 557 Lake St.
Antioch, IL 60002. Interment will follow in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Pancreatic Cancer Foundation PO Box 189 Box Elder, SD 57719, are appreciated in Christopher's Memory.
