Christopher Hatton Katz, 60, of Mooresville, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on June 6, 1962, the son of the late Robert John Katz and Gretchen Brandt Katz.
Chris was a devoted and loyal friend. He loved to water and snow ski, was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling, boating on Lake Norman, and drinking good beer. He had an incredible passion for life and was known to light up the room when he walked in. Chris worked in commercial aviation mechanics for over 43 years. His career began with Continental Airlines, then US Airways, which merged with American Airlines. Chris fought a fierce and courageous battle against cancer. He will be remembered as being devoted to his family, friends, and work.
Chis is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Eric P. Katz and Margaret Katz; sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer Katz Dodson and Brian Dodson; nieces and nephew, Madelaine N. Katz, Michael R. Katz, and Raina Dodson; and his extended American Airlines family and their spouses.
A visitation will be held from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M., Friday, March 24, 2023, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville. A celebration of life service will begin at 7:00 P.M. following the visitation.
