Christopher Hyunoo Lee, age 41, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away on December 4, 2025.
Chris was born on May 7, 1984, to loving parents Kun Hee and Ho Sung Lee. He grew up in Rye Brook, New York, attending Ridge Street School for elementary school and Blind Brook Middle and High School. He attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University from 2002 to 2007 and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering.
Chris worked at Cessna/Textron Aviation from August 2007 to the present as an Engineer Specialist in Static Loads, contributing to multiple aircraft programs and developing innovative engineering tools. He enjoyed working with his colleagues and developing strong relationships with them at lunch and other corporate outings; he was highly respected and regarded for all his efforts and commitment to excellence. He often invited them over to his home to feed them Korean BBQ, enjoy other good food and spend time together outside of work. Although he lived with muscular dystrophy, which limited his physical abilities, it did not stop him from pursuing his personal passions such as cooking, though he could not eat or smell. He accomplished an extraordinary amount personally and professionally and did not let his disease limit his pursuits.
Chris was an expert in many subjects and was the person his friends and family would turn to when seeking advice on what to buy, what to cook, technical issues, electronic products, kitchen tools and equipment and all things dog nutrition. He was also sensitive to his friends and family’s personal needs offering endless emotional support and encouragement. In recent years he became an avid lover of stereo equipment and enjoyed sharing listening to music with others.
Chris was a devoted, loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. A committed Christian, he found great strength in the Lord and shared that strength generously with those around him.
Chris is survived by his parents, Kun Hee Lee and Ho Sung Lee; his sister and brother-in-law, Marvel and Danny Kim; and his nephew and niece, Matthew and Jenna Kim. He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Lee. He is also survived by his extended family and close childhood and college friends.
Chris was a courageous and amazing person who accomplished and lived more than most. He will be deeply missed by all who loved him. His life touched many, and his faith, perseverance, and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Wichita Grace Korean Methodist Church in Wichita, Kansas.
