WESTMORELAND – Mr. Christopher G. "Chris" Lupa, age 57, passed away on Monday, December 15, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in New Hartford on February 6, 1968, Christopher was the son of the late Joseph R. and Sandra (Zegarelli) Lupa. He graduated from Utica Free Academy in 1986, and furthered his education at MVCC, focusing on criminal justice.
On March 8, 1991, he was united in marriage with the love of his life, the former Victrina "Vicki" Mullen. Together, they shared nearly 35 years of marriage, marked by unwavering love, mutual respect, and deep devotion to one another.
At one time, Chris held positions with the Department of Motor Vehicles at both the county and state levels. He later accepted a position as an investigator with the New York State Insurance Fund, which he held until his passing.
Above all else, Chris will be remembered as a loving man who always placed the needs of others before his own. If he encountered someone in need of warmth, he was so selfless that he would willingly give them his own coat. His happiest memories were made while spending time with his family. He was blessed-and blessed others-with a tender and loving heart, and he would do anything for those he loved.
Chris loved being outdoors and rarely stayed still. He thrived on planning exciting travel adventures-researching the best destinations, booking top-notch hotels, and meticulously crafting itineraries. He especially enjoyed taking his family along, particularly his wife, and they often collected shot glasses as souvenirs from their trips. Chris also had a passion for live music, attending rock concerts whenever he could. A lifelong fan of the Buffalo Bills and New York Yankees, he also loved riding and caring for his motorcycle.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Vicki; children and their loves, Amanda L. Lupa, Adrianna N. Lupa, Angelina C. R. Lupa and Shaen Hyland, Joseph R. Lupa, II, and Zachary C. Lupa; brother, Jeremy Lupa and his wife Dennise Vargas; a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; in-laws, Tracy and Carmine Perrotta, Wendy and Mike Beekman, and James Mullen, Jr.; godson, Albert Knapp; godfather, Charles Perrotta, Sr.; and his dear friends, Reginald and Caitlyn Alex-Hart, Michael Christmas; and Joseph Santamore. He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Bonnie (Lamphere) Mullen and her companion Richard Kerwin; and his godmother and aunt, Patricia Zegarelli.
The Lupa family would like to thank Chris's oncologist, Dr. Rahul Seth, and his staff, especially Jessica Eno, for their care and compassion. They also extend their gratitude to Dr. Blakely, as well as the nurses and staff-particularly Jodee-who cared for Chris, for their professionalism and loving support.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Eannace Funeral Home, Inc., 932 South St., corner of Hammond Ave. A Final Blessing will be offered at the funeral home at the conclusion of visitation.
