Christopher Martin, 37, of Chester, passed away on December 12, 2021.
He was born in Peoria, IL on August 17, 1984, the son of Mike and Colleen (Hoffman) Martin.
Chris grew up in Mason, Ohio before moving to West Lafayette for college, where he met Lauren. They moved to Chicago after graduation. They discovered New England, and specifically New Hampshire, on their honeymoon. They moved to Chester, New Hampshire in 2014 and have been here ever since. Chris loved New Hampshire. And he loved Maine. He loved the ocean, the smell of the salt water, sail boats and lobster.
Chris was a perfectionist. He would become an expert in everything he found interesting, including watches, cars, and Antarctica. He was always on time. He loved both kinds of music, country and western.
Chris also loved his pug, Charles. He enjoyed walking Charles, playing with Charles, spoiling Charles and building forts for Charles.
Chris was a watch enthusiast. He met a great group of fellow enthusiasts and they became like a family to him. They would meet regularly to discuss all things watches. Chris also enjoyed organizing meetings at the local dog park.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Colleen Martin. Surviving family members include his wife, Lauren (Nelson) Martin; his father, Mike Martin (Lake Mary, FL); his sister Melissa and brother-in-law Arron Smith (Tacoma, WA); and his grandmother, Sue Bailey (Lee's Summit, MO).
A memorial gathering to celebrate Christopher’s life will be held on Saturday December 18th from 10 AM to Noon at the Cremation Society of NH, 243 Hanover St., Manchester. To view an online tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit www.csnh.com
