Christopher William Martin

Christopher William Martin, 23, of Newport News, VA, passed away Oct. 13, 2010, in Riverside Regional Medical Center. A native of Harrisburg, PA, he was a member of the Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps of Ft. Mill, SC where he played Euphonium and was a finalist in three world championships. He also played clarinet with Tidewater Winds and was an Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop #471. He is survived by his parents, Michael and Darlene Martin; two sisters, Amanda McCullah of Chesapeake, VA and Laurel Martin of Virginia Beach, VA; his fiancee, Chloe Maveal of Newport News, VA; and his maternal grandparents, Gerald and Kathryn Warren of Hanover, PA. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Wilfred and Mary Jean Martin. A Mass of the Resurrection will be conducted Sunday at 6 p.m. at The Catholic Church of St. Mark with Rev. James Griffin officiating and he will be assisted by Reverend David Pierce. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel is handling the arrangements.
