Christopher D. Moody

Christopher D. Moody, 55, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on July 13, 2023 at his residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of Patricia Moody Vanstone and the late David Moody. He was predeceased by stepfather Andrew Vanstone.
Chris was a graduate of Niagara-Wheatfield High School and earned his Associate's Degree from Monroe Community College in Computer Science. He was employed as a Data Analyst with Frontier Science & Data Management in Amherst, NY for over 5 years. He was also previously employed with Client Logic in Rochester, NY for several years.
Music was everything to Chris. He was the pioneer of the Buffalo House Music Scene, and was known professionally as DJ Xotec. Making music for your poor decisions since 1989. In addition to DJing, Chris loved making, producing, and recording music, and was always working on a new project. He loved performing at club parties and festivals, and was very generous, donating his time and talents at various benefits and supporting various community events. Chris enjoyed soaking up the sun while visiting his brother and sister-in-law in Florida, and loved to spend time with his children. He cherished the time he spent with his family, and will be remembered most for his kindness and unique laugh and personality.
In addition to his mother, Chris is survived by his beloved children, Ronan Moody and Regan Moody; his brother, Robert (Valerie) Moody; his former spouse and best friend, Erin Moody Young; as well as by a niece, and many cousins and dear friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19 from 3 – 6:30 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY 14304, where funeral services will begin at 6:30 PM. Private interment will be held in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. A Celebration of Chris' Life will also be held a future date, time and location to be announced.
