CHRISTOPHER LEON “DICK” MORRIS
NEWVILLE… Christopher Leon “Dick” Morris, a resident of Newville, Alabama, passed away Friday, October 24, 2025, at his home. He was 56.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M. Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, with Reverend Eddie Thomas and Reverend Norman Fryer officiating. Following the service, the family will have repast at the Carrol Family Gathering Place, 339 South Railroad Street, Newville, Alabama 36353. The family will also meet here at 12:15 P.M. to go in procession to the graveside service. Wright Funeral Home & Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
Born on August 30, 1969, Christopher was the beloved son of the late Earnest and Geraldine Morris. He was preceded in death by his brother, Willie Earl Poke; his nephew; his nephew, Fredrick Morris; his aunts, Neva Jean Carrol and Willie Joyce Nelson; and his uncle, Raymond Carrol, husband of the late Neva Jean Carrol.
Christopher was a hardworking man who spent much of his life dedicated to farming. Outside of work, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life – especially fishing and watching Alabama football. His warm personality, sense of humor, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Leaving to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Kimberly Wilson Morris; his son, Christopher Johnson; and his beloved granddaughter, Christaline Johnson. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Elizabeth Perry of Rochester, NY, Sherita Morris Harper (Micheal Harper) of Dothan, AL, Patricia Poke of Dothan, AL, and Cassandra Poke of Dothan, AL, and brother, Darrell Collins. He is further survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends who loved him dearly.
Christopher will forever be remembered for his hardworking spirit, kind heart, and the love he shared with those around him.
