Christopher A. Pruitt

Christopher A. Pruitt, 40, a resident of Grayslake, IL, passed away March 1, 2026 at Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital in Lake Forest, IL.  He was born October 15, 1985 in St. Petersburg, FL to Gerald and Kim Pruitt.

Chris owned and operated Pruitt Construction.  He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and barbequeing.  Chris was an avid outdoors man, spending time fishing, going off road with his motor bikes and atvs, camping, and enjoying a good campfire with family and friends.

Chris is survived by his wife of 15 years, Jamie Pruitt, his children Gerald "L.J." Pruitt and Valerie Pruitt, his parents Gerald and Kim Pruitt, his grandparents Jim Zumwalt, Carolyn Wilkinson, and Mary Lou Loriss, his siblings Brad (Tiffany) Pruitt, Mike (Amy) Pruitt, Nick (Tracy) Pruitt, and Kendall Johnson, his 7 nieces and nephews, his 1 great-niece, and his many aunts and uncles.  He was preceded in death by his grandparents Barbara Zumwalt, Glenn Pruitt, and Joyce Baldwin, and his uncle Charles Pruitt.  

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes memorial gifts made in his honor and deeply appreciates your love and support.
