Christopher "Chris" G. Reed went to his final resting place on April 24, 2024. Chris was born to the late Frank G. Reed and Johnnie Pack Reed in Dover, DE. He was 56 years old. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Michele Felty Reed.
Chris and Michele Felty were married on June 28, 1997 in front of family and friends next to the gazebo at the Blue Coat Inn in Dover, Delaware.
In high school Chris worked at the Dover Sheraton where his love of Nascar started. He graduated Dover High School in 1985 and then pursued a career in the surveying industry working first with Earl D. Smith, Franco Belafonte Surveyors, Century Engineering, Meridian Engineering and Merestone Surveyors, then became employed by AECOM Engineering, where he worked as a Lead Inspector for the past 14 years.
Chris was well known for his love of sports and music. He loved to golf and fish with his friends. He was a true and loyal supporter of his Philly teams especially the Eagles. His exhausting knowledge sports trivia was equal to his encyclopedia of music facts. As much as sports and music were important to him, his love for life and sense of humor was cherished by his friends and wife Michele. Chris could make you smile on your worst days, and he could aggravate you to no end. But no matter what, he was always there when a friend called on him.
Chris was avid pool player. Playing in FARGO and APA Billiard Leagues. He and Michele have many wonderful friendships and memories with their pool team family. He was a great pool coach, too!
Chris was a member of the Dover Elks Lodge 1903 for 23 years. He served on various committees, chaired the Homerun Derby/Batters up program and volunteered when called up with distinction and honor. He was always a fun guy and enjoyed seeing children happy. Santa Claus is that you?? No, it's Chris Reed helping when Santa needed a stand in. He valued the Elks and the Elks members valued him more! He was currently a 3rd Year Trustee on the Board of Director.
Celebration of Life will be held at the Dover Elks Lodge on May 5, 2024, 200 S Saulsbury Rd, Dover, DE 19904 at 12pm.
Chris was a Tissue/Cornea donator for the Gift of Life.
