In Loving Memory of Christopher Douglas Setser.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christopher Douglas Setser, aged 38, who departed this world on February 9th, 2024, in Denver, Colorado. Born on November 3, 1985, in Augusta, Georgia, Chris was the cherished son of Susan Pannier and Edward Setser.
Chris's journey led him from his childhood in Barboursville, West Virginia, to the vibrant city of Denver, Colorado, where he spent his adulthood. A man of larger than life personality, Chris touched the lives of many with his outgoing, compassionate, brilliant, and loving nature. His laughter was infectious, and his presence brought comfort to those around him.
Admiring his parents and holding his three sisters in the highest regard, Chris was the epitome of a loving and supportive son, brother, and husband. As a registered pediatric nurse, he dedicated his life to caring for children, leaving a lasting impact on those who adored him. Outside of work, Chris reveled in the outdoors and passionately cheered for the North Carolina Tar Heels in his man cave.
Chris leaves an immeasurable void, and his loss is profoundly felt by those who knew him. He is survived by his parents, Susan Pannier and Edward Setser (Monica Setser), three sisters Emily Setser, Caitlin Setser, and Zoe Setser, grandmothers Marie Pannier and Jean Setser, aunt Joanie Setser, uncle Charlie Setser, cousins Samuel Pannier (Nathalia Bohorquez), Ellie Anston (Robbie Anston), Mary Pannier, Matthew Miller, his wife Samantha Setser, and their cherished dogs Diego and Lola.
Chris is preceded in death by his grandfathers Leo Pannier and Rufus Setser, uncle Mike Pannier, and cousin Chad Setser.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Calfee Funeral Home in Beckley, West Virginia with Pastor Doc Adkins officiating. The family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 am. A burial service will follow immediately after at Sunset Memorial Park.
