On Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, Christopher Clark Shires—a devoted husband and cherished friend— was peacefully welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was embraced by his beloved wife, Carey (Wisner) Shires, the love of his life. Born August 29, 1967, in San Diego, California, Chris and Carey married in 1997, they built a life together rooted in unity and unconditional love. They shared joys like fishing, camping, and frequently making trips between Huntingdon and Tarentum, PA, to enjoy their favorite P&M pizza. A proud Marine who served from 1985 to 1989, and a retiree with over 30 years at the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, Chris was someone you wanted on your side during tough times. His courage and determination extended even to his medical challenges, where he fought with remarkable strength. At the same time, Chris possessed a gentle, loving spirit—he dearly loved Carey for life. His memory and spirit will continue on through her and the moments they shared. Arrangements have been entrusted to Heath-Anderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 61 E. Shirley Street, Mount Union, “Honored Provider of Veterans Funeral Care TM.” Condolences may be made at AndersonFamilyFuneralHomes.com
