Christopher "Mike" Urenda

Mike Urenda, age 47, of Fort Walton Beach, FL, passed away on Sept. 25, 2016. He was born to Tony and Kay Urenda on June 4, 1969 in La Mirada, California. Mike was a Destin Fire Department Battalion Chief and an Ocean City Fire Commissioner. He previously served as a Tactical Air Command and Control Specialist in the U.S. Air Force. He will be remembered most as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Suzy Urenda; children Cody Urenda, Collin Urenda, Zachary Cresse, and Kierstin Cresse; and granddaughter Gracey Urenda; parents Tony and Kay Urenda; brothers Lance Urenda (Lisa), Toby Urenda (Nikki), David Urenda (Tania), and Rocky Urenda. A funeral service will be held on October 2 at 2:00 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. The family will receive visitors October 1 from 5:30-7:30 at Emerald Coast Funeral Home. Following the funeral service, there will be a processional from the funeral home to the graveside memorial service at Beal Memorial Cemetery.
