Christopher J. Viglucci

EAST GREENBUSH- Christopher Viglucci of East Greenbush passed away after a brief illness on 2/24. Born in Albany in 1929, he was the youngest of 6 children, his older sister Grace being the only surviving sibling. He joined the Navy in the early 1950's as the Korean War was heating up, and his Destroyer, DD-521 USS Kimberly, saw combat action on a 1952 tour. After his tour, he returned to Albany and thanks to the original G.I. Bill, got an Associate Degree from HVCC as an electrician. He was a big Sinatra fan and a life-long Yankee fan. He married Margaret Moscheo on October 6, 1956. Two days later, while they were honeymooning in Florida, Don Larsen threw the only perfect game in World series History for the Yankees. Chris would go on to work for AT&T (and later NYNEX when AT&T was broken up in 1984) until he retired in 1991. Ever a Navy man, he loved the ocean. He loved sports and in particular bowling, where he rolled a perfect game of his own in league play shortly after retiring. He is survived by his wife of over 69 years, 4 children and 7 grandchildren. Fair winds and following seas to all of them and to all who loved him and will miss him.
